The Listening Program® Protocol at Vitae Health
In order to be recommended The Listening Program® at Vitae Health, the following steps must be followed:
- Completion of the "Listening Screening Tool" by Advanced Brain Technologies, a Client History & Consent Form.
- Consultation and assessment, undergoing specific auditory processing testing (Pre-Listening Examination).
Following this assessment, we will provide a report with our recommendations.
The Listening Program® Examinations
Pre-Listening Examination
Standardised tests will need to be performed prior to commencing The Listening Program®. These tests form a baseline measure and further indicate your specific areas of auditory processing difficulties.
Mid-Way Listening Examination
This will occur once (or twice, in some cases) during your schedule for The Listening Program® - after approximately every 3 months. A consultation will be booked with your certified provider of The Listening Program®.
This re-examination will involve objective tests to monitor changes in your auditory processing ability. You may be asked to complete forms and bring them with you to this consult, for discussion.
End of Program Listening Examination
This will occur after you have completed your first and second cycles of The Listening Program®. This will involve a complete re-assessment of your auditory processing using standardised tests.
You may be asked to complete forms and bring them with you to the consult, for discussion.
The Listening Program® Monitoring
It is compulsory to be monitored by a certified provider of The Listening Program®. This provider, at Vitae Health, will track your progress and monitor the changes that you will be experiencing during The Listening Program®. To do this we recommend the following:
Regular Monitoring
If you are undergoing chiropractic care, each time you have a scheduled chiropractic adjustment visit, you will be required to bring with you your folder containing your listening schedule, your journal and log. With this, we will copy your latest entries and adjust your listening schedule to suit your needs and the changes that are taking place. This is also an opportunity to report any changes or difficulties you may be noticing.
If you are not undergoing chiropractic care at Vitae Health, we request that you provide for us a copy of your log and journal every 2 weeks for our review. Upon receipt of this, we will be able to provide continued listening schedule plan for you.
It is your responsibility to maintain your Listening Program® "journal" and "log-book" throughout the course of the program. The listening journal and log will be used to aid in monitoring the changes you will experience and adjust your schedule appropriately.
One-on-One Consultations
Other than re-examinations, there may be times when you require a one-on-one consultation with a Vitae Health Listening Program® provider. During these consultations we can address any specific issues that you may be experiencing, or discuss in depth the positive changes you are noticing.
The duration for these consultations is usually 30 minutes. They can be booked, upon your request, at reception.
